SAATH is an Ahmedabad-based NGO that uses market-based strategies for poverty alleviation in India. We have a physical presence in over 50 slum areas across Gujarat and Rajasthan. Since the very poor often have many needs at once, we have created one-stop shops where we are able to link them with education, job training and placement, medical and legal services, and basic infrastructure.
A key principle of SAATH’s approach is community-coinvestment. Asking recipients to pay for services empowers them to become customers who can demand quality and accountability. Community members pay a token fee for all SAATH services. The rest is underwritted by donors like you.
Thank you for visiting our blog. We hope you will continue to invest with SAATH in community-led development.
